Screwfix has been presented with a leading industry award in recognition of its efforts in providing quality services to its customers.

In partnership with supply chain services specialist Wincanton, Screwfix has been awarded the accolade of 'Supply Chain Team of the Year' at Retail Week's annual Supply Chain Awards.

The award comes as a result of both businesses working in partnership to improve innovation, sustainability and efficiency for Screwfix's customers.

Liam McElroy, Wincanton's Managing Director of Retail, commented: "The presentation of this award is recognition of the sustained efforts of all parts of our business to provide the best possible service to Screwfix's customers, which has delivered great results. At a time when supply chains are under increasing pressure to be more efficient and create seamless deliveries to customers, we continue to work with Screwfix on improving services to make both our own and our customers' businesses better."

Lindsay Haselhurst, Supply Chain & Operations Director at Screwfix, says: "We're delighted to have won this award, it's fantastic for the team and encourages us all to take a moment to celebrate what has been achieved this year. Delivering for our customers is at the heart of the Screwfix DNA. We strive to meet the needs of our busy trade customers while our supply chain team and logistics partner Wincanton work hard behind the scenes to ensure our customers get the best possible experience when shopping with us, whatever the channel."

"An example of this dedication is our Click & Collect service. We've had more than six million orders since the service's launch in 2011. For our customers to be able to pick up their goods from a store just five minutes after ordering requires a precise and consistent supply chain but also one that is responsive and fleet of foot. Our great systems and passionate teams make this possible."

Earlier this year Wincanton was recognised for its carbon reduction performance, winning 'Leader in Logistics Carbon Reduction' at the Freight Transport Association (FTA) annual Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme awards.
