As 'Time' is called for this Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London and GPI locks up its Gastro Pub themed stand, Nikki Clark, marketing manager of convenience and consumer products, reflects on an extremely successful show.

"This is the first Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London since GPI opened its Global Innovation Centre; the response to our new concepts and samples has been absolutely fantastic both in terms of positive business leads we generated, and also in terms of visitor footfall to our stand."

The GPI Stand was split between a Gastro-Pub themed area which hosted beer tasting sessions by award-winning beer sommelier and Principal of the School of Booze, Jane Peyton. "Showcasing our samples as guests sipped their ales, was a really effective way to demonstrate our innovative new products," continues Clark. "Being in an appropriate environment meant our realistic product samples could be viewed in context."

The other part of the stand was a design studio where GPI's Concept Design team were on hand to guide visitors around the high-end designs and print techniques being developed at GPI's Global Innovations Centre. Nikki continues, "We received particularly enthusiastic responses to the various tactile effects we have developed using foils, varnishes, layering and embossing. In particular, visitors representing Premium and Luxury products were fascinated to see how we are interpreting 2016 design trends. Having the Concept Design team on the stand not only brought the product displays to life, but also gave our experts the opportunity to share the rationale behind their designs."

Dr Helene Roberts, director for Marketing, Design and Innovation (Europe) commented, "As always, Packaging Innovations is the highlight of our exhibiting calendar, being the perfect environment for our talented team to present their innovative designs. Congratulations to everyone involved for yet another successful event."
