DSV Air and Sea named as finalist in Global Freight Awards 2015

DSV Air and Sea Ltd has been named as a finalist for the Global Freight Awards 2015 in the Air Freight Solutions Provider of the Year category.

The Air Freight Solutions Provider of the Year Award is open to all freight forwarding organisations who specialise in air freight, or specialist air freight departments within freight forwarding organisations. The judges were looking for demonstrable expertise and high performance in this area, asking organisations to demonstrate 'a drive for innovation, customer centricity, continuous improvement and importantly, results for both the customer and your organisation'.

DSV Air & Sea Ltd has been shortlisted because of the successful launch and exponential growth of its perishables division and, in particular, the DSV Fresh service.

DSV Air & Sea Ltd successfully launched DSV Fresh in January 2014 to provide customers with a tailored, time-defined solution that safeguards the freshness and quality of customers' products to final delivery. Since the launch, DSV Fresh has seen month on month growth – from 100 to 750 tonnes per month.

George Mead and the DSV Fresh team supply specialist distribution solutions for a full range of perishable and refrigerated products including vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, dairy, drinks, plants, flowers and pharmaceuticals. The team's understanding of each commodity and its unique transportation and storage requirements has helped DSV Fresh grow exponentially since launch. Group Directors assigned the DSV Fresh team a target of 1000 tonnes of exports per month within 24 months, which they are set to achieve ahead of time.

The winners will be announced at the official awards ceremony on 19 November at the Grosvenor House on Park Lane, London. Now in its 19th year, the event is one of the highlights of the freight and logistics calendar, with key industry players attending the glamorous black-tie evening.

DSV Air and Sea Ltd was previously named winner of BIFA's Air Freight Award in January 2015.
