Linde Material Handling has appointed a new Managing Director (MD) to lead its UK East business.

Simon Manasseh joins Linde East as the new MD with more than 30 years' regional, national and international experience, aiming to further grow the company's market leading position in the region.

Mr Manasseh began his career as an agricultural engineer before moving into wholesales. Over the years, his roles have included senior management positions with Claas and JCB where he was a regional manager for five countries based in Cyprus. Over the last three years, he has run the international sales office of the Mantrac Group Caterpillar dealers for nine countries before becoming the managing director of their operation in Uganda.

He said: "From the first impression of Linde East what we've got is really special as a business. There's an experienced workforce of 150 people and the facilities are unique with our own customer demonstration area and training centre. Linde East has 100 field-based engineers who can order the parts they need to be delivered overnight meaning that they can respond efficiently to repairs the very next day.

"I was inspired to join Linde as it is the number one material handling brand in Europe and it is both inspiring and challenging to be part of a company with such a strong reputation and history. My aim at Linde East is to maintain our market-leading position in the region and to drive sales to achieve further growth while ensuring that we deliver excellence in customer service."

Linde East offers the full range of Linde products and services to meet the needs of virtually every industrial and commercial sector in the region. Linde prides itself in its ethos of providing businesses with efficient and sustainable long-term solutions to their material handling needs along with delivering effective and responsive after-sales support.

Andrew Daly, Director, Commercial Operations UK said: "Simon recognises that there is huge potential in the region and no doubt he will make his mark in continuing to grow the business. He brings with him a wealth of management experience and a history of strong achievement to this role.
