Interroll, provider of key products and solutions for internal logistics, recently announced that three Horizontal Crossbelt Sorters and one Vertical Crossbelt Sorter successfully started up at China Post in November 2014.
China Post placed this order with Interroll China via China Post Science & Technology Co., Ltd, which aimed to improve their capacity in handling parcel peaks during the so-called "Double 11" shopping festival on November 11; China's equivalent of the US "Black Friday".
"We ordered the four sorters to dramatically improve our material flow efficiency as well as parcel-handling efficiency and delivery speed," said a representative of China Post Science & Technology. "Nowadays, all of the leading Chinese CEP suppliers are more or less facing the dilemma of efficiency problems."
"Efficiency is the upmost success factor for every logistics company. However, this issue cannot be solved simply by hiring more operators when the company reaches a certain scale. They have to implement automation solutions like sorters, " remarked James Shi, Sales Director, Interroll China.

The Horizontal Crossbelt Sorter was specially developed by Interroll to provide a smart solution for operations in areas with limited space. With an appropriate layout, it is possible to create several sortation areas with just one cycle. What's more, 50% energy can be saved during operations, compared with other types of sorters.
