UK packaging distributor, Macfarlane Packaging, has launched what it claims to be the country's first "Letterboxable" range of packaging.

The move is a direct response to consumer feedback that highlights the biggest single frustration for online shoppers is products sent in packaging that is unnecessarily large and therefore unable to get through their letterbox.

A recent survey conducted with 1,000 consumers by One Poll Market Research* for Macfarlane Packaging, revealed that 21% of respondents were irritated by having to pick up parcels or rearrange delivery because they had used inappropriately sized packaging and were too large for the letterbox. This was listed by over a fifth of respondents as the most annoying aspect of online shopping making this issue the biggest single source of annoyance for online shoppers.

Now Macfarlane Packaging has launched a unique, branded "Letterboxable" range of packaging to allow companies to be sure that their packages will fit through a UK standard sized letterbox. This will ensure that their customers can receive their parcel whether they are at home or not.

The launch also follows the latest research from the Consumers' Association which revealed last week** that one in four consumers is not satisfied with the delivery service they received from some of the leading internet retailers.

Laurel Granville, Marketing Director of Macfarlane Packaging, said: "Everyone knows how annoying it can be to arrive home to the dreaded 'sorry we missed you' card behind the front door. It's even more frustrating when the package contains something that could easily have been popped through your letterbox if it had been appropriately packaged.

"Macfarlane's new "Letterboxable" range means senders can be certain that their packages will easily fit through a standard sized letterbox first time, every time."

Mark Selby, eCommerce Director at Macfarlane Packaging, said: "Our new "Letterboxable" range is a first in the market. It offers multiple benefits for delivery services, online retailers and their consumers. Not only is the packaging fully recyclable, but the tailored design of the range will ensure that deliveries can be made on the first call, thereby reducing multiple delivery attempts and promoting a greener delivery process."

The full "Letterboxable" range of packaging, including bubble envelopes, postal bags, mailing sacks and cardboard wraps, is now available to order online. All these packs will fit through a UK standard sized letterbox of 260mm x 45mm. The packaging range can be accessed here: http://www.macfarlanepackaging.com/letterboxable.html
