'Impressive' – That was the judges' verdict on Ogilvie Fleet retaining its position as the number one contract hire and leasing company for providing the most technologically advanced and sophisticated online solutions to customers.

Now operating a fleet of more than 11,000 company cars and vans, Ogilvie Fleet has won the Leasing and Contract Hire category of the annual BusinessCar Fleet Technology Awards - known in the industry as the 'Techies' they are the only prizes in fleet that reward technological innovation - for the second consecutive year.

The Award was for the introduction of more fleet manager and driver friendly enhancements to MiFleet Showroom 2, the successor to the original MiFleet Showroom, which secured a highly commended in 'The Techies' two years ago.

Paul Barker, editor of fleet industry publication BusinessCar, said: "It's deeply impressive that Ogilvie Fleet has improved its already 'Techie' Award-winning MiFleet Showroom 2 system, so this award is even more richly deserved. The additional features brought through in the last 12 months complement what is already a leading system that cleverly employs technology to ensure fleet managers' roles are a little less time-consuming in terms of managing their vehicles and drivers."

MiFleet Showroom was launched in July 2011 and is the most innovative online reporting tool in the industry. Critically, it is available free of charge to all fleet customers - irrespective of size and the number of vehicles leased via Ogilvie Fleet.

Ogilvie Fleet has adopted a process of continuous system enhancement and in the last 12 months functionality has been introduced with a major focus on reducing time-consuming administration. Developments include:

  • A two-way tool. Fleet managers have always been able to access a raft of driver and vehicle-related reports, but any discrepancies in the information presented or a need to amend details - driver name, address, contact details or vehicle allocation for example or vehicle odometer reading, MoT or service due dates - had to be undertaken via a request to Ogilvie Fleet. However, with the introduction of the two-way tool fleet managers can now quickly and easily amend information from within MiFleet Showroom 2.
  • As previously, fleet managers can still use MiFleet Showroom 2 to send drivers' reminders about service or MoT due dates. However, as Ogilvie Fleet continues to further automate the service, fleet managers can now determine the regularity of reminders sent to drivers. Additionally, reminders are now permanently recorded within the portal to provide an audit trail to meet duty of care compliance requirements.

MiFleet Showroom 2 remains a ground-breaking mechanism by which all critical vehicle and driver-related data is located in one place and delivered directly via Ogilvie Fleet's website to a fleet manager's desktop or other device (iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry etc.) - in real time and in a manner which enables them to see, precisely, any action points that need to be taken on their fleet.

The portal's traffic light red, amber, green system at the top of the online dashboard delivers instant data warnings to fleet managers, stopping the need to run reports to ascertain what might need attention. Clicking on any of the traffic lights then allows a fleet manager to see the affected vehicles and within just one more click they can then drill down to full vehicle data, technical data, notification histories, driver data and a variety of other pop up screens of key information.

Ogilvie Fleet sales and marketing director Nick Hardy said: "We are naturally delighted to retain the Award which shows that Ogilvie Fleet continues to lead the vehicle leasing sector in delivering solutions to customers at the cutting edge of fleet management."

Ogilvie Fleet has won many industry awards over the last four years with success reflected in an ever-growing customer base.

Ogilvie Fleet is forecasting 10% organic growth in 2014/15 which will result in it having almost 12,000 vehicles on its books.

Mr Hardy added: "Business confidence is improving as the economy continues to recover from the recession years and that is contributing to our growth. But so is a string of industry awards that reflect the strength of our advanced technology solutions and industry-leading customer service."

The BusinessCar 'Techies' are in their sixth year and are judged by the publication's expert and experienced editorial panel and cover all the major sectors of the corporate marketplace.
