Shinsegae International is South Korea's leading fashion retailer. They currently own 10 stores and 766 shop-in-shops. They strive to contribute to their customer's lifestyle by offering the latest trends and quality fashion merchandises.

Their retail brands include Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Diesel, Gap, Banana Republic and more. Over the last five years Shinsegae International's sales has increased over 184% and continues to grow further.

In order to facilitate this growth, Shinsegae International invested in a new DC equipped with two state-of-the-art CROSSORTERs 700 supplied by Vanderlande. This Dutch company, a leading material handling solutions provider, worked closely together with integrator SFA and together they proposed a high capacity concept which exactly suited Shinsegae International's needs.

The new facility has been successfully handed-over in the beginning of December 2013 and ensures a more efficient order picking and consolidation process, optimum use of available space, lower operational costs and improved stock management.

With the implementation of the CROSSORTERs 700, Vanderlande is providing a flexible and high-capacity sorting system with a total capacity of 21,600 cases per hour. The system has the ability to handle mixed flows of both apparel and footwear products and consolidating it to customer's orders. A special feature is the sorters' ability to handle unwrapped apparel.

Other system features ensure improved operator efficiency and high accuracy, including batch scan functionality at the inducts. Chutes with dual functionality enabling buffering and sortation direct into the customer box and integrated on- and offline chute controls provide Shinsegae International with WMS real time chute functionality enabling them to start-stop whenever necessary.
