Stertil Koni, manufacturer and supplier of commercial vehicle lifting equipment, has expanded its range of transmission jacks with a new 1000kg capacity heavy duty model which incorporates an air-operated motor.

Specifically designed to provide safe, rapid removal and replacement of heavy transmissions, the new jack offers impressive versatility by virtue of its 1155mm minimum height and its unusually high extended height of 2100mm. Thanks to a wide base, which is safely spread over four legs, the jack is exceptionally stable and simple to operate by a single workshop engineer.

The new 1000kg jack incorporates an unrivalled array of features including a two way tilt adaptor which allows precise positioning when removing different types of transmission. A recently introduced innovation is an air-operated motor that provides initial rapid movement of the ram whilst any fine adjustments can be completed using the integral manual pump. This hydraulic double acting power pack enables units weighing up to 1000kg to be removed with a smooth, safe and highly controllable application of power. A triple extension ram, incorporating a hard-wearing chrome piston, also provides up to 945mm of stoke whilst optional  custom-designed adaptor top plates are available to provide the perfect fit for commercial and heavy duty vehicle transmissions of all shapes and sizes.

"Our new 1000kg transmission jack has been designed to bridge the gap between light and heavy commercial vehicles", says Tony Edge, General Manager of Stertil Koni. "Because it's immensely strong, totally safe and easy to use by a single engineer, it's a very reliable labour saving workshop tool. All in all, the new jack ensures that transmission changes and replacements can be completed much more efficiently than ever before."
