At CeMAT 2014, the intralogistics fair (19 to 23 May, Hanover), Bito-Lagertechnik Bittmann GmbH will be exhibiting a whole range of new products which will enable users to significantly enhance their warehouse business. For example, the specialists have made further improvements to the PROmobile mobile racking systems. In pallet or cantilever design, these offer extremely high storage capacity as they enable access aisles to be saved.

Bito has now developed a continuous separation control for these units. This is because, if the racking units on their mobile bases do not run parallel at an angle of 90 degrees to the guide rails due to uneven loading, the tracking elements in the rails can slip and wear can occur. Under the name PROmobile synchro, the racking system optimized by the addition of separation control minimizes wear on wheels and rails. The user therefore incurs lower service costs and significantly less downtime.

Bito is one of the leading experts in the implementation of the FIFO principle (first in - first out). The company has therefore optimized its PROflow pallet live racking system which enables this principle to be implemented very easily. Instead of relying on the usual braking rollers, with the PROflow Active System, Bito now uses intelligent, motor-driven rollers. These support the pallet on approach, and automatically decelerate it in the channel. As a result, even defective pallets and pallets with sensitive goods travel safely through the channel without the possibility of collisions or breakage.

The Bito range also includes the PROmotion Shuttle, a battery-operated, remote-controlled deep lane vehicle which enables pallets to be effectively handled and conveyed within the racking. For example, it organizes loading and unloading operations, ensures continuous unloading, and undertakes inventory functions. The system has already successfully proved its worth in numerous applications. Bito has now given this shuttle a complete facelift and has equipped the unit with improved sensors, an optimized mechanical system and a lighter battery.

Bito is responding to the steadily increasing degree of automation in intralogistics with the new Bitobox XLmotion. This is especially aimed at the requirements in automated warehouses. For example, a new full-perimeter base ensures high stability and quiet running. With dimensions of 599 x 399 x 270 millimeters and, compared with competitive products, a remarkably high volume of 53 liters, the Bitobox can be loaded with up to 50 kilograms. When full containers are stacked, the bottommost container can support 250 kilograms.

At CeMAT, Bito will also be presenting specially perforated shelves for shelving systems under the designation GRID. These are compatible with the warehouse specialist's standard shelving systems. They are used, for example, in systems which have to be fitted with sprinklers for fire prevention reasons. Thanks to the rectangular holes, water can easily drain in the event of an emergency, and goods do not end up standing in water. This has a positive effect on the cost of insurance premiums. Their permeability to air makes them ideal for use in cold stores, and their permeability to light makes for a brighter working environment.
