Farralls Transport and Fagan & Whalley, the north west based logistics specialists, have launched a 4PL joint venture company, FF&W, in response to growing market demand for sophisticated logistics solutions and fully managed supply chain services.

The two partnering companies have a combined history of over 140 years experience in transport and logistics and have assets that total 180 vehicles, 500 trailers and a strategic network of over 50,000 sq m of warehousing space.

Mike Farrall, Managing Director of Farralls Transport, said, "Bringing the combined expertise and resources of two of the north west's leading logistics companies together within a 4pl structure - under FF&W - creates a highly responsive and flexible logistics services business that offers scale, expert knowledge and reliability. Together as FF&W we are perfectly positioned to respond to the new challenges faced by our customers – those of meeting flexible demand, exceeding end-customer expectations and creating value through added services."

Stephen Fagan, Managing Director of Fagan & Whalley, said, "Having worked closely together over many years we recognise that we share core values, such as a determination to perform to the highest service levels, to engender trust through proven reliability and to respond swiftly and unconditionally to any problems. FF&W will have the shared values of both partner organisations and the combined management skills, assets and vision to co-ordinate complex logistics activities for large and medium sized businesses."

FF&W manages the UK logistics for Knauf Insulation, one of the largest providers of insulation materials to Europe's construction industry and the only UK based manufacturer of glass mineral wool, rock mineral wool and polystyrene insulation products. Having won the contracts to distribute glass fibre roof insulation and rock mineral wool cavity insulation from the company's factories in St Helens and Queensferry, FF&W has recently won a major contract to manage the transport of cladding products from Knauf's Cwmbran production facilities.

As founding members of Palletforce, one of the UK's largest pallet networks, both Farralls Transport and Fagan & Whalley are active in working collaboratively with members of the Transport Association (TA), the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) and the Road Haulage Association (RHA).
