The free app 'Truck Parking Europe' has attracted 4,500 drivers to date, using the app on their iOS and Android devices to find truck parking spaces in Europe. The community has already posted more than 600 new truck parking options since the launch of the app in December. In January, the app was named 'App of the Month' by the British 'Trucking' magazine.
More on the figures (last update: 30 January 2014): 4,500 drivers have installed the app on their Apple and Android devices. 603 are actively involved by editing and assessing information or posting comments. 642 new parking spaces have so far been registered and checked by PTV's editorial staff. 556 of them have been included in the Truck Parking Europe database. Highlighting over 10,000 parking options along the main roads and motorways throughout Europe, it is claimed to be the largest free platform for truck parking spaces in Europe.
An app information package for dispatchers and drivers can now be obtained free of charge from truckparkingeurope.com. PTV Group will be presenting Truck Parking Europe at LogiMAT in Stuttgart, from 25 - 27 February (hall 5, stand 407). The company is currently working on a new app extension which will be available in March.
