David Bermingham appointed as CEO of Swissport UK Ground Handling and Swissport UK Cargo Services

Swissport International, provider of ground services to the aviation sector, has appointed David Bermingham as CEO of Swissport UK Ground Handling and Swissport UK Cargo Services as of 3rd of September 2013. He brings ample managerial experience, gained within the transport and logistics industry, to the role. The combination of the operations of the UK businesses under one management team will provide a strong base for the delivery of service excellence and growth to the Swissport UK business.

In his new role, David Bermingham will be responsible for further developing Swissport's customer centric approach in the UK and putting a focus on service excellence throughout the Swissport UK organisation. David Bermingham will report directly to Philipp Joeinig, Swissport's Executive Vice President GH Central Europe.

David Bermingham joined Swissport in June 2012 as CEO of Swissport Cargo Services UK, and has since delivered a significant improvement in service and performance. Prior to joining Swissport, David Bermingham held Managing Director positions with TNT, Ceva Logistics and TDG Logistics. He now replaces Interim CEO Robin Dickie, responsible for UK Ground Handling, under whose leadership the professionalization of the business was successfully initiated.

Swissport International Ltd. provides ground services for around 118 million passengers and 3.5 million tonnes of cargo a year on behalf of some 650 client-companies in the aviation sector. With a workforce of around 40,000 personnel, Swissport is active at 192 stations in 38 countries on five continents, and generates annual consolidated operating revenue of CHF 1.9 billion.
