When Crown Honda, one of Europe's leading Honda approved dealerships, needed a new external door it was important that the product reflect Honda's corporate ideals. Fortunately sara LBS was able to supply and install a high-speed Sprint 3000 roller shutter door which met all of the dealerships requirements.
The Crown Honda showroom and servicing centre in Hendon, UK, is one of the leading authorised Honda dealerships in Europe. The company has previously won Dealership of the Year at the Motor Industry Awards and regularly receives visits from other dealers across Europe as it is seen to perfectly represent Honda's Corporate Image; efficiency, reliability and aesthetics. To help it maintain its reputation it is vital that the building looks modern and runs as efficiently as possible.
A key concern to meeting these requirements is the external doors, which provide access to the servicing centre for both cars and people. They need to offer complete reliability in terms of operation and overnight security, while also matching the styling of the rest of the building and helping to keep the overall building efficiency and temperature as high as possible. When the dealership's owners started to feel that the original door wasn't performing to these expectations they turned to sara LBS for a solution.

When it was decided that the servicing centre door here was too slow and unreliable we spoke to our contact at sara to see if he was able to offer a solution which would be suitable. From the moment he came for the initial site inspection he understood both our aesthetic and mechanical requirements and was able to specify a door which is fast, reliable and modern looking."
The Sprint 3000 roller shutter door is constructed from galvanised steel frames and aluminium profile curtains which offer wind resistance to EN12424 class 3 (up to hurricane force) as well as protection from attempted break-ins. The doors are available with sara's patented MCC Vector Control technology which is fully programmable and can provide speeds of up to 2.5m/s. The fast, reliable operation has been shown to improve a building's thermal insulation and contribute significantly towards energy savings.
The door supplied to Crown Honda came equipped with a non-contact safety beam that monitors any possible obstacles blocking the doorway.This ensures that the curtain cannot strike a person or a car when in operation which helps to maximise safety during busy periods and also protect the cars from potentially costly damage. An emergency manual override function is also included as well as a patented Disc Drive mechanism which limits operating noise and vibration.
