Premium coastal fashion retailer Crew Clothing Co. has appointed end-to-end supply chain logistics specialist Torque to fulfil its UK retail requirements. Torque will be processing goods for 71 Crew Clothing Co. stores nationwide, with daily deliveries being made to each Crew Store. The deal will see over one million units passing through Torque's facilities every year.

The logistics provider was able to use its purchasing power to reduce Crew Clothing Co.'s packaging costs and has also acted quickly to minimise disruption in the lead up to the launch of the brand's spring/summer range.

Richard Brodrick, head of logistics at Crew Clothing Co., said: "As our business has grown in recent years, so too has our need for greater space and logistics resources. We have reached a stage where we have outgrown our existing facility and Torque has provided us with a flexible, cost-effective, shared user operation.

"We were looking for a company that really understands multi-channel logistics and also able to consistently deliver the high level of customer service required by Crew. We are looking forward to progressing this partnership with Torque as it will allow us to continue with our growth plans and provide us with the necessary support as we keep expanding."

Torque is an independent company with a turnover of £60m employing 660 people across sites in Leeds, Bradford, Wigan and London. It offers a full logistics service, from origin to end customer, and clients are able to choose which service options they need, when they need them, to suit their own logistical and warehousing needs. Providing over 1.3 million square feet of warehousing capacity, Torque operates globally for clients ranging from large and famous high street names to small internet retailers.
