Schwank is the hot news at IMHX

Schwank, the supplier of gas-fired infrared heaters for industry and commerce, is featuring a range of its high efficiency radiant heaters and heating control systems at IMHX, the international logistics and materials handling exhibition (NEC 19-22 March 2013).

The company has many years' experience in providing innovative infrared technology for the logistics and distribution sector and has heated over 20 million m2 of distribution centres with energy saving systems, enabling customers to slash operating costs and minimise carbon emissions.

Exhibiting at stand 17P27, Schwank will be featuring a working example of tube heater technology and aims at IMHX to spread the message about energy efficiency and energy savings that can be achieved within industrial and commercial buildings using its extensive product range and experience in heating system design.

Schwank heating designs for distribution centres offer a range of benefits:

• Even when doors are kept open comfortable temperatures can be maintained.
• Balanced temperature levels are produced in all areas of the building.
• Infrared heating does not create mechanical air movement so goods will not get coated with dust.
• If the use of a facility changes [e.g. due to a different racking configurations], the flexible Schwank systems can be easily changed and adjusted.

Schwank projects have included heating a new logistics centre in Leipzig for the leading internet retailer Amazon. The total area of the building could encompass eleven football pitches, with products stored ranging from electronics to hardware and from furnishings to sports equipment. While most products required only frost protection, heating was essential at the 48 loading docks and a comfort temperature of 20oC was necessary for the stock room and picking areas. Spot heating was also needed at selected work stations.

Working closely with Amazon, Schwank tailored a high energy efficient system to meet these demands accurately and cost effectively, with precision temperature control provided through Schwank's ThermoControl Plus solution.
