Representatives of the Netherlands-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) visited Vanderlande Industries on 25 January. As well as discussions on the potential to extend the economic relationships between Dutch companies and Vietnam, the NVCC visited the Vanderlande Innovation Centre to see the company's automated material handling solutions in action.

The Netherlands is one of the largest investors in Vietnam, and in 2009 Vanderlande Industries decided to enter the Vietnamese market. Da Nang International Airport was the first order received, and gave the company the opportunity to establish a local network of partners and subcontractors.

The Vietnamese government was very satisfied with the realisation of the Da Nang International Airport project, and advised the Japanese main contractor to also award the Baggage Handling System for the prestigious Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi to Vanderlande. The project for Noi Bai Terminal 2 is financed by Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA).

"We are very proud that we had the opportunity to execute these two projects, and that we were able to build relationships in other Vanderlande areas such as Warehouse Automation and Parcel & Postal", commented Jan Hulsmann, Managing Director Warehouse Automation and Parcel & Postal.

"We highly appreciate the visit of the NVCC, and we are honoured that the Netherlands Council for Trade Promotion (Nederlands Centrum voor Handelsbevordering, NCH - www.handelsbevordering.nl) gave us the opportunity to host this visit", said Lodewijk Reineke, Area Director Parcel & Postal at Vanderlande Industries and member of the NCH.
