During 2012, Cartwright secured a major order from Allied Bakeries comprising of six different product types. The orders ranged from 7.5 tonne to double deck box van semi trailers, and also included urban semi trailer, standard semi trailer curtainsiders and standard box van semi trailers. This order has now been completed.
As a business Allied Bakeries are carefully managing distribution costs also as they work to improve the carbon footprint of their products. Cartwright has been able to assist with this by supplying products with aerodynamic benefits. Working with Allied Bakeries, Cartwright have been able to tailor the requirements for each vehicle, such as lightweight 7.5 tonne rigids and a focus on improving past issues such as rear frame damage.
Cartwright has provided Allied Bakeries with an improved aerodynamic solution for the 14 tonne product by making changes to both cab and body. The trailers are either Fastback in design or have the benefits of Cheetah aerodynamics included. The curtainsiders have been produced to EN12642XL unrestrained load standard to future proof the Allied operation.
Cartwright has also produced urban trailers as a new addition to the Allied Bakeries fleet, allowing the customer to make full use of tractor unit utilisation.
The order for 2012 is now complete and all vehicles have been delivered into the Allied Bakeries fleet.
