Manufactured with a special compound that is opaque to x-ray and fluoroscopic imaging, the Radiopaque ProStack pallets from Polymer Solutions International Inc. are said to be ideal for use in food, beverage and pharmaceutical processing applications. Because the Radiopaque pallet is clearly visible in imaging inspections common in cleanroom and processing areas, it's easier to detect product contaminates.
"Food, beverage and pharmaceutical processors are increasingly implementing x-ray and fluoroscopy imaging as part of their inspection and quality control processes" said Dan Kelly, President and CEO of Polymer Solutions International. This process reduces their customers' and end users' risk of a product recall due to foreign contaminants. Our Radipaque ProStack pallets helps in that detection process".
The Radipaque additive we use is completely safe", added Kelly. "It is the same inorganic compound used by most human medical CT scanning and x-ray imaging processes. It"s odorless, insoluble in water, will not bond with processed food, beverages or pharmaceuticals, and cannot be absorbed by the human body."
All Radiopaque ProStack pallets are rated for a 30,000 pound static load, or a 5,000 pound dynamic load. Edge rackable to 2,200 pounds, they offer four-way fork entry and are made from 100% recyclable, FDA-approved high density polyethylene (HDPE); the radiopaque compound does not impair the pallet's recyclability. In addition to resisting bacteria, mold and other contaminants, the pallet features an open-grid top deck or solid-top top deck that is easy to clean and visually inspect.
The Radiopaque additive is available for use in all Polymer Solutions International pallets including the ProGenic and Double Leg Ratchet (DLR) line of pallets.
