Duo signs five-year deal with JD Williams

Manchester-based polythene packaging manufacturer Duo has signed a five-year contract with internet clothing retailer, JD Williams.  The contract will see Duo become the sole supplier of JD Williams' outbound mailing bags and significantly extends the manufacturer's 10 year association with the firm.

JD Williams is part of the Manchester-based N Brown Group which owns the well-known Simply Be, Viva La Diva, High and Mighty, Jacamo and Fashion World brands.

JD Williams' Packaging Manager, Peter Collins, commented: "This is an unprecedented contract for us previously, in common with many companies, we had always looked to award packaging contracts over a shorter term period.

"However, Duo has proved itself to be such a reliable, high quality, supplier over the last 10 years it became clear that rewarding them with 100% of our outbound packaging contract was the best way to maintain this level of quality and stability."

Family-owned Duo, which turns over 20m, first began working with JD Williams in 2002 when it started providing outbound mailing bags.  This new deal, which replaces the previous one-year rolling contract, sees Duo supplying 100% of their outbound packaging requirements and recognises the consistency, reliability and quality of Duo's product delivery over an extended period of time.

Duo which will celebrates its 25th year in business next year, manufactures bespoke packaging products for leading e-retail, retail, mail order and industrial brands with all aspects of the manufacturing process carried out in house. Additional high profile clients include ASOS, JD Sports, Tesco and Boohoo.com.
