ByBox, the UK company which is aiming to transform delivery for online shoppers, has been listed in the Thames Valley 250 rankings of the most successful privately-run businesses in the region.

It is the latest honour for the company which has already achieved a "distribution revolution" in the field services market, winning a host of awards and blue chip customers on the way.

ByBox' approach is to deliver parts in-night, pre-8am, ready for an engineer to collect before the start of a day's work, from one of its 18,000 secure lockers at 1, 500 locations in the UK.

Running 365 days a year, the whole operation is underpinned by ByBox' own software platform Thinventory which tracks the whereabouts of parts at all times; allowing customers to run truly lean inventories and easing the returns process.

Now ByBox is wooing internet shoppers, freeing them up from the burden of waiting at home to collect their parcels by offering the option of delivery to a secure locker at a handy location such as a supermarket, train station, shopping centre or petrol station. All of which are convenient and handy for the customer to collect as and when they want.

CEO and co-founder of ByBox, Stuart Miller, said: "I am delighted that ByBox has been listed in the Thames Valley 250 it is a testament to the drive, passion and dedication of our employees.

"At ByBox we never stand still: we are always looking for new ways to make delivery more efficient, easy and economical for our customers. We have grown because we listened to our customers.

"The boom in internet shopping will fuel ByBox' future growth, as I truly think that the millions of people that love ordering online but hate waiting in for parcels are desperate for an alternative to traditional deliveries."

ByBox, headquartered at Wantage, Oxfordshire, has grown from scratch to become a 51 million company in just 12 years. The company has expanded its B2B offering into the Republic of Ireland, France and the Benelux countries; and more recently expanded its locker solutions into the US.

The Thames Valley 250 awards, sponsored by The Business Magazine, HSBC, Grant Thornton and law firm Blandy & Blandy, were announced at a reception at the prestigious Stoke Park mansion, near Stoke Poges.

ByBox has also recently been listed in the Sunday Times International Track 200 for the rapid expansion of its European network and was this year also listed as a finalist in the Motor Transport Awards.
