International technical outsourcing company Qcom has turned to ByBox, the field solutions specialist, to help streamline its operations while simultaneously offering customers enhanced support.

Qcom offers multi-technology outsourced technical functions and consultancy to businesses across the UK and Europe, including warranty, helpdesk, pre-sales advice and RF and Voice over Internet Protocol surveys.

With an ethos that engineers are expected to "fix first time" on call outs, Qcom is dedicated to providing the highest quality service to resellers, distributors and Original Equipment Manufacturers. In order to achieve this, engineers have to receive the relevant spare parts on time.

Qcom turned to ByBox for a complete solution after experiencing difficulties with delivering parts direct to customers' premises by a standard carrier. This method had proved unreliable as parts were often stuck in customers' internal 'Goods In' systems, especially on larger sites, causing confusion, delays and extra costs.

ByBox' solution bypasses this problem completely as it delivers parts in-night pre-8am to its network of lockers all over the UK. Moreover any unused or faulty parts are returned through the same network.

ByBox is also boosting Qcom's productivity by taking care of the simpler jobs, thus freeing up Qcom engineers to concentrate on higher-value, more complex jobs that demand their expertise. The ByBox Technical Courier service carries out technical swap outs, exchanges and collections, and helps companies repair and replace broken machinery more cost-effectively. A team of 160 technical couriers can answer call-outs to a four-hour, eight-hour or next day call-to-fix.

Neil Anderson, Managing Director for Qcom Outsourcing, said, "ByBox has helped us deliver enhanced technical support outsource solutions to our customers. Their services are reliable and the Technical Courier service is swift, easy to use and cost effective."

Founded in 2000, ByBox has grown rapidly with its winning formula of delivering overnight, pre 8am to drop boxes, seven days a week, 365 days a year with a number of blue chip customers including Konica Minolta, Computacenter, GlaxoSmithKline and Inspired Gaming. ByBox currently makes over 20 million deliveries a year into a network of 18,000 lockers at 1,500 locations across the UK. There are also networks in the Republic of Ireland, France and the Benelux.

ByBox also operates a Technical Courier service where any faulty machinery can be tested onsite and any low level repairs can be carried out or swapped for a working item. Furthermore, ByBox has recently developed a consumer solution that will revolutionise the home delivery marketplace. The service allows consumers to collect their internet orders at a locker if they are unable to receive deliveries at home or at work; ensuring they never miss a delivery.
