Two years after it took a majority stake in the company, ByBox, the UK provider of field service solutions, has acquired the remainder of PPR Solutions to further reinforce its "end to end" supply chain offering.  Now fully under the ByBox umbrella, the service will be rebranded ByBox Engineering.

With full UK and Ireland coverage, PPR provides bespoke, high-end, outsourced engineering services on a variable cost basis which provides the last piece of the service jigsaw for ByBox and its customers.

PPR's fortunes have flourished since ByBox' initial acquisition, with sales more than doubling in the past 25 months as demand from customers for flexible, fully managed engineering solutions grows.

The gap in the market was initially spotted by PPR founders John Cushing, Emanuel Andjelic and Tushir Patel who set up the company six years ago and rapidly built up an impressive client list across many sectors.

Mark Garritt, Managing Director of ByBox Field Support said: "We are delighted to have now fully acquired PPR Solutions, having bought an initial stake in 2010 to offer customers more choice.

"Integrating PPR into our overall offering has proven to be extremely successful as companies are increasingly looking for bespoke engineering solutions at a variable cost, rather than employing their own in-house teams.

"ByBox transformed the field services market with our innovative in-night delivery to drop boxes underpinned by the Thinventory software platform now we are stripping further cost out of the supply chain by offering high-end engineering.

"Customers can configure Thinventory to deliver whichever combination of inventory, distribution and field engineering they require. Acquiring PPR has allowed ByBox to complete the full supply chain lifecycle."

Today, PPR has more than 200 engineers throughout the UK with a range of clients across retail, financial services, utilities, telecommunications and IT.

John Cushing, Managing Director of PPR solutions said, "We have delivered fantastic growth ever since PPR became part of the ByBox group. Completing the sale to ByBox represents another great step forward for PPR and our customers."

Founded in 2000, ByBox initiated a quiet "distribution revolution" in the field services market by delivering overnight, pre-8am to a network of drop boxes. Now a 51 million company with more than 18,000 boxes at 1,500 locations and over 230 customers, it has picked up a host of awards along the way, including being listed in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 and the Sunday Times International Track 100.

As well as offering high-end engineering solutions through PPR, ByBox also has a technical courier service for swap-outs and simpler technical fixes.
