ByBox wins international safety award

ByBox, the UK's in-night distribution specialist, which has its central hub situated in Coventry, has been named as a Merit winner at the British Safety Council's 2012 International Safety Awards. The accolade was given in recognition of the company's continued commitment towards improving health and safety standards across the business. To achieve Merit status ByBox had to meet an exacting set of criteria which included the completion of a rigorous twelve point questionnaire for which ByBox received a score of 52 out of a maximum of 60.

 
Experts looked at the company's accident records in addition to the various health and safety management systems it has in place ranging from hazard and risk assessment, effectiveness of health and safety control measures and fire safety arrangements. They also looked at how health and safety procedures are proactively monitored and how the health and well-being of the workforce and vulnerable personnel is ensured. Additionally, the criteria required ByBox to identify its priority areas over the next twelve months and to show how it intended to involve the workforce in implementing these processes. It is only the second time ByBox has entered the awards and in just twelve months it has improved its scoring from achieving a 'Pass' in 2011 to achieving ''Merit' status this year.
