Macfarlane Packaging goes continental

Macfarlane Packaging, the UK packaging distribution business, has become the exclusive UK member of NovuPak, the pan-European collaboration of industrial packaging distributors.

Now Macfarlane Packaging will be able to offer its customers a truly international service across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland with France and Poland expected to follow shortly.

Ivor Gray, Commercial Director of Macfarlane Packaging, said: "While the majority of Macfarlane's customers are UK-focused and able to take advantage of our national footprint, there's increasing demand from some for a pan-European capability. Similarly, our new colleagues within NovuPak can and do have a need for a UK infrastructure and they can now benefit from Macfarlane's unrivalled UK coverage. We also plan to work together with our partners to share in new product development and services which we can use to enhance our proposition to our customers."

Macfarlane's partners in the NovuPak collaboration are:

• Boxon - based in Helsingborg, Sweden, and covering Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark
• Moonen Packaging - located in Weert in the Netherlands and covering Europe, with a strong focus on the Benelux countries
• Transpak - based in Solms, Germany, covering Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Czech Republic.

NovuPak is headquartered in Maastricht, in the Netherlands from where it is run as a co-operative association for its members.
