When it comes to sheer job enjoyment nothing can beat a career in logistics and distribution - according to new data. Young professionals reviewing their roles on employment website TheJobCrowd.com were happiest if they worked in transport and logistics.

Perhaps surprisingly those working in performing arts and music enjoyed their jobs less than the logistics professionals but were happier than those in other sectors. Workers in the construction and property industries rated third for job enjoyment while admin staff were unhappiest.

TheJobCrowd.com asks young professionals from a range of industries to anonymously reveal the truth about their roles and even asks them to rate their jobs for factors such as responsibility, progression, colleagues, training and company as well as sheer enjoyment.

The website also acts as  a social network and research tool for job hunters allowing them to connect with people working inside companies as well as find out more about careers by reading job reviews.

The data also revealed that when it comes to rating colleagues those working in insurance and pensions score more highly than any other professionals.

But workers in admin and customer services were voted the worst colleagues and also came bottom of the list for job enjoyment.

There are further surprises - despite its glamorous image careers in media and broadcasting were rated third worst in terms of enjoyment behind only admin and IT.

Natasha Freeman, of TheJobCrowd.com said the data, which was provided by 525 professionals, had thrown up some interesting results.

She said: "Studies have shown that graduates rate the quality of their colleagues as one of the most important decisions when it comes to choosing where to work so it's interesting that those working in insurance and pensions were the happiest with their co-workers.

"We were also surprised to discover that those working in transport and logistics enjoyed their jobs more than those in any other sector including performing arts which obviously has a more glamorous image."

TheJobCrowd.com co-founder Keren Mitchell said the data was useful to employers and job hunters alike.

He said: "Employers use our site to attract the best prepared candidates so while many encourage their workforce to post job reviews they do want them to be positive.

"What we are finding is that employers are using the reviews as a valuable way of learning more about their own workforce. Because the reviews are anonymous workers can be totally truthful which gives the data real validity.

"It also means job hunters can research companies but hooking up with someone on the inside and getting the low down on what a role really entails from someone who is doing it already."
