The systems integrator Witron Logistik + Informatik GmbH announces another contract in the course of its successful compact-project-strategy After having designed and realised a twelve-aisle automated pallet warehouse together with Witron at Ernsting's family's location in Klieken - Germany in 2005, the clothing company chain will rely again on the know-how of the logistics expert for its new high bay warehouse in Coesfeld-Lette (Germany). Both locations will supply more than 1,500 Ernsting's family stores throughout Germany with its entire goods assortment consisting of baby's and children's wear as well as ladies' and men's fashion.

In terms of conveyor technology, the new pallet warehouse covering 11 aisles and 22,000 storage locations will be connected to the already existing pricing, repack and picking areas that will be provided with goods. To ensure a permanent and proper alignment of all system areas, the functionalities of Ernsting's IT system and Witron's IT system will exactly be synchronised with each other. This enables high flexibility and dynamics, making it possible to store or remove up to 2,500 pallets or roll containers on a peak day.

Productive use of the 6,000 m2 facility is planned for July 2012. As with the existing project, Witron will take over the entire responsibility as general contractor for the realisation of the complete logistics scope including material flow computer, control technology as well as mechanics and steel construction.

The transparent and clear design of the faade, a masterpiece of the glass artist Nabo Ga, will make it easy for the warehouse to fit harmoniously into the existing architectural ensemble of the company headquarters. Particular importance is attached to a sustainable and holistic architecture. Thanks to the use of photovoltaic systems integrated into the faade, the warehouse will carry itself in an energetic way. As proof of their special ecologic, economic and technical efforts, the company is striving to receive a building certificate provided by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
