Ogilvie Fleet has launched a new fleet decision-maker and driver website designed to give users a complete overview of operating costs and tax costs alongside a raft of new informative features.

Against the backdrop of 'skyline' images, the website, which can be accessed at www.ogilvie-fleet.co.uk, delivers a variety of tools to both fleet chiefs and company car and van drivers to help them select the most tax-efficient, and therefore emission-friendly, fuel-sipping vehicles.

A new 'Ogilvie car chooser' enables businesses and drivers to select the most environmentally-friendly company cars according to their CO2 figure. Meanwhile, specially created online calculators enable drivers to discover their benefit-in-kind tax burden and whether or not they should be in receipt of employer paid for fuel for private use.

Lease rental quotes for vehicles can be individually obtained online based on the Ogilvie True Cost, which takes the established principle of using whole life costs to compile company car choice lists but then adds in crucial elements that are often missing from quotes from other vehicle leasing providers.

Ogilvie True Cost includes the critical costs associated with National Insurance Contributions and then applies the applicable corporation tax saving to those actual and direct costs before adding back in any applicable lease rental disallowance.

The Ogilvie True Cost then becomes a far more accurate representation of the actual costs associated with the operation of the vehicle and allows a far more precise comparison to be made between different models, according to Ogilvie Fleet sales and marketing director Nick Hardy.

Additionally, the website also features an online service booking and repairer locator and a complete menu of fleet finance options, driver support services and occupational road risk management options available from Ogilvie Fleet, one of the UK's largest independent contract hire and leasing companies with almost 10,000 cars and vans on its books.

The website will be further boosted in the near future with the launch of an online 'fleet manager showroom' that will securely deliver critical live fleet operational data in real-time to the desktops of fleet chiefs.

The company specialises in serving companies running 25 to 250 vehicles although it also provides solutions to companies running fleets of 2,000+ vehicles. Earlier this year Ogilvie Fleet was voted the UK's top vehicle leasing and fleet management company for service to customers running 25 to 250 vehicles in the annual Fleeteye CSI survey of fleet operators.

The company employs 55 people in offices in Birmingham, Sheffield and Stirling and the backdrop of 'skyline' images on the site are from those locations.

Mr Hardy said: "Innovation is at the heart of Ogilvie Fleet and with the new website we have created the most functional and easy to navigate online toolbox for fleet chiefs and drivers.

"With up-to-date newsfeeds and a blog, the website is designed to be both engaging and informative. We want the site to become a portal of information with an array of tools that are easy to use and quickly accessible.

"There are also links to social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, which we will be increasingly using to communicate important information to fleet managers and drivers."

He concluded: "We believe that the new website offers a unique combination of features and tools that are freely available. Our team of developers were charged with creating the most innovative looking and functional website in the UK vehicle leasing industry and we believe that is what they have achieved."
