St Albans transport firm joins pan-European distribution network

Forward Trucking Services Ltd, based in St Albans, has joined Palletways, the European pallet network. Privately-owned, Forward Trucking has become one of more than 100 members in the Palletways UK network, which provides a range of express distribution services for small consignments of palletised freight, including next day, economy and timed delivery options across the UK, as well as a daily cross-Channel distribution service to mainland Europe.   



As a member of the Palletways network in the AL postcode area, Forward Trucking will collect from local customers for onwards delivery nationwide, as well to Ireland, the Benelux countries, Denmark, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

Barry Simmons, Managing Director of Forward Trucking Services Ltd, said: "Joining Palletways will open up new business opportunities for our company in the UK and mainland Europe. Being part of the largest network of its kind will enable us to offer our customers cost-effective, overnight and express palletised freight services to anywhere in the UK and to mainland Europe for the first time ever."  

Palletways, which was set up in 1994, has 280 depots across the UK and mainland Europe and handles circa 21,000 pallets a day through nine hub facilities across Europe.  The company's distribution networks in the UK and mainland Europe are supported by an unrivalled and fully integrated IT infrastructure, which allows customers to track and trace consignments using the internet.
