Hellmann Worldwide Logistics UK is building on its successful start to the year with the announcement of a 14% increase in roadfreight consignments compared with 2009 and a 1.7% increase in the weight per shipment proving that the global logistics provider is driving growth.

Hellmann UK's domestic shipments have achieved substantial growth with consignments increasing by 160% and volume increasing by 79% in the last twelve months - suggesting that UK production levels may be on the rise. Imports consignments also increased in number by 12% and 5% in volume.

Following the recent announcement of an increase in airfreight export gateway tonnage and the lowering of carbon emissions following the implementation of a new multi product collection/delivery system, Andy Connor, Hellmann UK's Managing Director, said: "In 2009 we increased our volumes by 9% over 2008, so it's encouraging to see that we're making significant progress year on year despite being tasked with a challenging economic situation. Hellmann has always provided a strong Road service and it is great to monitor the continual growth, alongside our airfreight volumes & results. It is a real achievement."

He continued: "Despite the increase in consignments we've also cut carbon emissions by 9% since January and are working to ensure all of our trucks are loaded to capacity before setting off to make sure we keep our carbon footprint down and continue to do our bit for the environment."
