Bedfords Transport is throwing open the doors of its Beddy road safety initiative for children and inviting other companies to get involved.

The Beddy scheme is based around five central characters and brings to life three of the company's trucks. Beddy delivers road safety messages to children aged between 5 and 7 through an interactive and fun website www.beddy.co.uk

The site has activities that demonstrate road saftey for children, parents and teachers and features Beddy and his family. Bedfords would like other interested companies to get in touch. Involved parties can simply have characters on the site or go further like Bedfords and have character liveried trucks on the roads and carry out school road safety visits in their area.

The Beddy scheme is backed by road safety charity Brake. A spokesperson from the charity said: "Brake is proud to back this wonderful new road safety initiative for children. The Beddy website is a fantastic vehicle to teach children about the dangers they face on the roads and how to stay safe around trucks and lorries; whilst engaging them in educational activities. Brake will definitely be directing children, parents and educators to this invaluable, exciting new website."

Bedfords Managing Director, Steff Pfadenhauer said: "The Beddy initiative is a nationwide scheme that is gaining recognition across the UK. Participants will not only benefit from increased brand awareness through exposure of the Beddy scheme, but will also tick key CSR boxes."

Any companies interested in being involved in the Beddy initiative should contact Lauren Slack on 01924 422456.
