Class-leading Mitsubishi low level order picker wins major award

If there was an Award for Reliability Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks would win it every year.  In its absence, the company scooped the Ergonomics Award at this years FLTA Annual Awards for Excellence... 

The Fork Lift Truck Association Archie was presented in recognition of the manufacturers ErgoCentric focus on operator efficiency, comfort and protection in its OPB20NE low level order picker.

The FLTA particularly praised this order picker which delivers 24 per cent higher productivity than its rivals for its large, uncluttered working space.

By relocating the OPB20NEs battery behind the operators compartment, designers at Mitsubishi increased the working space by 40% making it the largest in the industry by far. The result is exceptionally easy on-off access with sufficient space to walk straight through without turning whilst carrying a load.

The new platform has chamfered edges and a high-friction surface to avoid trips and slips. Its whole surface acts as a dead mans pedal, allowing movement as soon as the operator steps on board wherever he or she chooses to stand.

Other advances include the Formula 1 styled Maxius steering wheel and control unit, bright white LED lighting and the latest electric steering system.

This years Archie takes the manufacturers FLTA Awards tally to five: covering the Ergonomics, Environment and Innovation categories.

This award saw the OPB20NE competing and winning against the industrys best and our success is thanks to the attention to detail and innovative design that is typical in all Mitsubishi products.
