The name of Toll Global Forwarding is starting to appear on the UKs roads, with the arrival of the first container vehicles in its livery. The vehicles replace ones showing the BALtrans name, which has been phased out globally following the companys acquisition by Toll Group in 2008.

The Scania tractors will handle container collections and deliveries to and from TGF customers throughout the UK. TGFs UK container business is expected to grow significantly as expansion-minded Toll Group continues to develop its global network.

Container logistics specialist Elite Transport Services is providing TGF with tractors, skeletal trailers and drivers. Says Elites Commercial Director Brian Walker: Its a great pleasure to be working with Toll. While much of the industry continues to be adversely affected by the global downturn, here is a company whose growth ambitions echo our own.

20-year-old Elite Transport Services is one of the UKs top 5 container logistics operators, with bases in Birmingham, Felixstowe, Leeds, Manchester (head office), Southampton and London Thamesport. The company operates 350 vehicles on a daily basis, and has a turnover exceeding 30 million.

TGF is part of a group which traces its history back to the coal haulage business founded in Australia in 1888 by Albert F. Toll. The business was eventually the subject of a management buyout in 1986, and since then has made more than 60 acquisitions. The group was listed on the ASX (Australian Stock Exchange) in 1993, and now employs over 30,000 staff.

Hong Kong-based TGF itself has over 70 company-owned offices across 26 countries in Asia, Australia, the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa within a global partner network totalling more than 700 sites in 45 countries.

Toll is the Asian region's leading provider of integrated logistics services, generating annual consolidated revenue of AUD$6.5 billion.
