A Shropshire egg producer is going even greener with the addition of a brand new truck to its 17 strong fleet.

Oaklands Farm Eggs produces 500 million eggs each year and has to transport them, plus thousands of tonnes of grain around the county and the UK each year. The DAF 105XF truck replaces an older one which was less fuel efficient.

Colin Moore, Sales Executive at Greenhous DAF who supplied the vehicle said; Oaklands were looking for a truck that would improve their fuel economy and make their fleet a little bit greener. They chose a DAF XF105 FTG Space Cab which will give them the economy they want, with a comfortable environment for the driver. New trucks have to comply with a Euro 5 standard which means they are more fuel efficient and produce fewer emissions than their predecessors.

Paul Evans is Transport Manager for Oaklands Farm Eggs Ltd. He said; For many years we have gone for the greenest option in our truck choice and in the 27 years Ive been with the business its been interesting to see the technological improvements that have happened in transport. The DAF has the latest emissions and fuel economy technology and should be the most fuel efficient on our fleet.
