TracKing from Thermo King is a web-based GPRS system that offers temperature management to ensure top product quality delivery to its customers. It prevents load loss with real time temperature alarm and fuel level notifications as well as two-way remote access to the Thermo King unit. These features and the ability to download the datalogger on the TracKing website make it unique in the telematics market. It also offers improved security with GPS location tracking and geo-fencing.

Thermo King understands the need for the logistics and transportation industry to lower their operating costs and optimise their assets. As a result, Thermo King offers TracKing as an option with its refrigeration unit equipped right from the factory.

The next step in the evolution of the TracKing system is to add fleet management capability. Gayatri Chaturvedi, Business Director Telematics at Thermo King commented: Our customers trust us to monitor their refrigerated cargo and in the past two years TracKing has proven to be a valuable solution for them. However, we want to continue to innovate and expand our telematics product offering to include fleet management to be a stronger partner for our customers.

Customers want a system that combines temperature, vehicle and driver tracking into one user friendly interface. They want a telematics partner who understands their business and helps them achieve operational efficiencies and the new enhanced TracKing system will do just that all from one source.
Thermo King will introduce its new fleet management system in the second quarter of this year. This new system will interface with the vehicle CAN BUS to provide information on fuel consumption, driving styles, journey information and vehicle emissions. It will provide fleet managers with a dashboard of cost critical information by trip, by driver and by vehicle allowing them to quickly gauge the productivity of their fleets.
