Hellmann Worldwide Logistics UK is one of the finalists for the Staff Development category of the British International Freight Association (BIFA) Freight Service Awards. The prestigious accolade is particularly significant as both the awards and Hellmann UK are celebrating their 20th anniversary.

Hellmanns submission, which led to the firm becoming part of a shortlist of four, described and demonstrated its commitment to progressive employment practices, in particular, on its staff development programme, TalentPool.

David Richards, HR Manager for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics UK commented:

The BIFA Freight Service Awards are highly respected within the industry so we are delighted that Hellmann has been recognised for its innovative internal practices. We are extremely proud of our achievements in HR, especially in relation to the success of our TalentPool programme, which in its inaugural year, has really demonstrated how important internal training is to our employees.

The scheme was developed by Hellmann in order to encourage internal promotions and to award highly talented staff with deserved recognition. Ultimately, it puts 10 specially selected employees through a number of key development modules, providing them with the essential skills to potentially climb up the Hellmann career ladder.

Hellmann is looking forward to the BIFA Annual Luncheon which takes place on 22 January 2009 at the Brewery on Chiswell Street, London. The awards ceremony will be hosted by the Rt. Hon. Michael Portillo, Broadcaster & former Minister of State for Transport.  At the event, Hellmann will collect its Finalists Certificate and the overall winners of each category will be announced to collect the Sponsors Trophies.

Martin Meyer, Managing Director of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics UK concluded:

This nomination not only reflects all the hard work carried out by Hellmann to date, but it also helps to inspire us towards our future goals in this on-going HR programme.
