Offering the most versatility of any counterbalance on the market, the new RC 5500 Series from Crown can be used throughout the workplace, from unloading trailers, to internal and external transportation, to stacking and storage.

Whether working in narrow aisles like a reach truck, crossing the warehouse and stacking vans and lorries like a conventional counterbalance or shifting pallets like a powered pallet truck the RC 5500 is truly three trucks in one well-designed package.

With the RC 5500 counterbalance truck, Crown has introduced the ideal truck for anyone seeking to improve productivity in the warehouse. Equipped with the latest technical innovations from Crown, including the maintenance-free e-GEN Braking System and Crowns patented FlexRide suspension technology for maximum uptime for the truck and the operator.

Outstanding visibility and intelligent ergonomics
To achieve the highest productivity levels an operator needs excellent visibility and an ergonomic operator position to reduce the effects of fatigue.

With the RC 5500 the operator has the same unparalleled visibility as on a reach truck. This is supported by a low profile, sculpted drive unit, a clearview mast, a radial design overhead guard and flexible side stance.
An ergonomic highlight is the Crown FlexRide Suspension which counteracts impacts caused by uneven ground or travelling over rails or fixed obstacles in the floor and reduces driver vibration. Soft, rounded surfaces, a padded back support with integral side restraints, padded arm rests and a premium rubber floor mat make the compartment interior even more comfortable. A soft grip steer tiller with hydrostatic steering reduces operator fatigue further. A low floor height of 240 mm aids entry/exit for the operator, and is particularly useful when scanning goods.

Innovative Technology
Crowns innovative technology gives the RC 5500 lift truck the ability to increase productivity and lower the cost of ownership in any warehouse. For example, the maintenance-free e-GEN Braking System with automatic parking brake provides consistent brake performance over the entire service life of the truck.
In addition the RC 5500 forklift features the Crown Intrinsic Stability System to minimise the causes of unstable conditions. It includes additional counterweight to aid stability, ramp speed control, automatic hydraulic speed restriction, cornering speed reduction, a sturdy mast design and speeds that adapt to the load weight and lift height. It also restricts forward tilt, thereby building an operators confidence rather than testing it.

The Access 1 2 3 Comprehensive System Control ensures safe, reliable and industry-leading truck performance and system diagnostics. In conjunction with the InfoPoint System it offers a faster, simpler and higher level of service.

Crown has also equipped the RC 5500 with the latest generation three phase motors which are designed and manufactured by Crown to ensure reliability and quality.

The series offers standard lift heights of up to 6,200 mm with the Triplex mast (TT-Mast) or 7,010 mm with a Quad mast.

Award-Winning Ergonomics and Design
The flexible RC 5500 stand-up counterbalanced truck is further evidence of Crown's commitment to innovation and reliability for outstanding performance, with the ability to increase productivity and lower the cost of ownership in any application.

All these features persuaded not only the Fork Lift Truck Association to give the RC 5500 the FLTA Award for Ergonomics (one of the highest accolades in the UK), but also the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design gave Crown the GOOD DESIGN award for the RC 5500. This award is given to companies with new, visionary and innovative product designs extending beyond pure product development - offering their customers genuine added value.

The RC Series trucks are available in 1.5 tonne and 1.8 tonne capacities.
