Reach for top training first with Jungheinrich

The opening of a new Jungheinrich fork truck driver training centre in Birmingham offers employers and lift truck operators the opportunity to train and become professionally qualified lift truck operators using the latest counterbalance and warehouse trucks from market leader Jungheinrich.
 
Located in Erdington, the new training centre opened its doors this week, offering 38 different courses on every type of lift truck, from powered pallet trucks, to order pickers, reach trucks and very narrow aisle (VNA) equipment, as well as the latest electric and engine powered counterbalance lift trucks.

All the courses are operated to current standards recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and accredited by the Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register (ITSSAR). Jungheinrich instructors are all assessed and qualified to ITTSAR standards for the category of equipment required for training.

Typically three or four days long, the training courses use a mixture of classroom work, practical demonstrations and exercises to train the operators. Lift truck drivers enjoy using the latest warehouse and counterbalance trucks manufactured by Jungheinrich in a modern warehouse environment.

ITSSAR accredited lift truck trainer, Balraj Singh Ahira coaching divers on one of the first courses at the Erdington training centre said: We have had a fantastic amount of interest in these courses from midlands companies and already have the first drivers gaining their lift truck operators licences.

Employees from the Christian Foundation and Bakro International Training Company were among the first to benefit from Jungheinrichs new training centre. We start with theory tests, which train operators to be aware of health and safety at all times whilst using a forklift, with the remaining part of the week focusing on practical tests like general manoeuvring and becoming familiar with pallet racking. Accredited trained professionals assist at all times. Successful operators are awarded the relevant lift truck licence.

Simon Rudiger, a recycling coordinator at the Christian Foundation in Milton Keynes said: We want to encourage and provide training for young people aged 17 and 18 who struggle to find full time employment without qualifications. A forklift truck licence from the worlds leading materials handling company Jungheinrich is a useful tool to get into the industry.

Rob Clarke from Bakro International Transport added: Bakro use Jungheinrich forklift trucks in their warehouses, so attendees will become familiar with Jungheinrich forklifts which is very beneficial to our company.
